Enter a valid domain name below to get its DNS records such as A Record, MX Record, authoritative NameServers (NS) of the domain, TXT Records etc.
For the best results, use the root domain name (such as [domain name].[TLD]) and avoid using “www” in front of the domain.
For example, if you want to check the DNS records of “www.google.com”, then in the form below enter “google.com“.
How DNS Lookup works
DNS (Domain Name System) is a distributed network of servers that translates human-readable website names (like www.example.com) into IP addresses. When a user types in a domain name, the DNS lookup process begins.
When a user types a URL into their browser, the browser first performs a DNS lookup to query the DNS server for the domain name’s associated IP address.
The DNS server then responds with the IP address, which is then used by the browser to connect to the appropriate web server hosting the requested website.
If the DNS server doesn’t have the requested domain name in its database, it will send the query to another DNS server, and so on, until the domain name’s associated IP address is found. This is known as recursive DNS lookup.
